Can Christopher Ranch’s California heirloom garlic help make the transition to a new living situation a little smoother?
Perhaps, according to the new online series, Nesting Newbies (www.nestingnewbies.com), wherein Chef Lea McIntosh shares her cooking, entertaining and decorating expertise with newlyweds, those who are newly on their own and those who require a little assistance when it comes to cooking, entertaining and decorating their nests.
The premise of the show is such: the newbies are culinary challenged, and McIntosh teaches them how to prepare a recipe – a task they’ve expressed an interest in learning – by breaking down basic techniques and simplifying the cooking process. Additionally, each “newbisode” highlights a fun way to decorate the table using pieces from Bloomingdale’s Stanford tabletop, along with chic and budget-friendly ideas.
In the Christopher Ranch segment, McIntosh shows the newbies how to chop garlic, use a garlic press and points out her preference for Christopher Ranch, as well as the ease of using our pre-peeled garlic. Click here to check out the show!
Now, we’re not sure if Christopher Ranch can solve all marriage and living conundrums, but one thing is certain – we can make life in the kitchen a little more enjoyable and your dishes a little tastier.
To express our gratitude – a big thank you, Nesting Newbies, for featuring us in the show; thank you, Burkart Video Productions, for producing the film; and thank you, Allure West Studios, for the terrific photographs!

Christopher Ranch is the largest grower of fresh California garlic in the world. A family farm focused on garlic cultivation and land preservation, we strive to sustainably produce California heirloom garlic that is flavorful, fresh, healthy and safe.
Hmmm…sounds great, but what does it mean?
Well, it all began in 1956 when Don Christopher selected an Italian heirloom seed to test in California’s rich soils. The tests were a success, and today, we exclusively grow 60 million pounds of fresh California heirloom garlic.
California heirloom garlic is characterized by its smooth, bold, nutty flavor, which food laboratory tests have confirmed boasts higher levels of valuable nutrients and oils than imported garlic, such as Chinese, Mexican and Argentine. Numerous chefs also have verified that California heirloom garlic consistently maintains its flavor throughout the life of a dish – a feat not claimed by all varieties.
Finally, we want to ensure our garlic is safe, which is why we follow strict food safety procedures in our garlic production. Enough about us, though. It’s your turn – we want to hear your thoughts.
